The founding ladies of the Atlanta Craft Mafia recently met with Jake Rothschild of the Irwin Street Market and learned about a fabulous opportunity!
Jake offers permanent vendor spaces to artists and crafters who wish to sell their wares. He has offered a space to be shared by the guys and gals of the Atlanta Craft Mafia. This is your chance to have your items in a retail location!
The Irwin Street Market is located on Irwin Street in Inman Park. The market includes a full restaurant menu, coffee, and ice cream. There are already many vendor spaces set up, including that of Jacquelyn Roberts of 3 Piece (a proud made member!). The market is a ‘third place’ (after home and office, of course) to many regulars, and a tourist stop to those who are visiting Atlanta. It is a very cozy, inviting space, that draws customers in and encourages them to stay and enjoy all that it has to offer!
The upkeep of the market space will be taken care of by the founding members. We live right around the corner, so we’re happy to pop in and make sure our space is neat and clean. We will let you know when you need to send more inventory, or perhaps change out old items for those that could sell a bit faster. Irwin Street Market will process all transactions and make sure you receive payment for items sold. Of course, any members are welcome to stop by and check out their retail space at any time!
The price of spaces varies by size. Keep in mind that the more members who opt to sell in the space, the lower everyone’s rate will be. Irwin Street Market collects the booth fee monthly, and the fee will be divided evenly by all members who choose to participate.
We would be responsible for creating displays for our items. We ask that each member provide a display for his or her own merchandise. If you happen to have any old items that would be suitable for display that you are not planning to use, we will happily accept donations!
We have not made any definite plans yet, as we first need to get an idea of how many members would be interested in participating. If you have any questions, or would like to participate, please email us at theladies@atlcraftmafia.com by Saturday, August 2nd. After we have an initial count, we will send out the information about expense and display specifics.
If you haven’t been to the Irwin Street Market, check it out at http://www.irwinstreetmarket.com.
This is the perfect opportunity to have your work showcased in a permanent retail space. Many people will see your work, and they will always know where they can go to purchase the items you create! We are very excited to work with Jake and the Irwin Street Market- there are sure to be many more fun opportunities to come!
